Biennual Boston
Cyberarts Festival 2001-- WAAM exhibited independent and collaborative multimedia work
created by Wellesley and MIT alumni. WAAM: Digital Landscapes exhibition held
at the Boston Tremont Gallery. WAAM experimental projects include interactive Chinese
poetry, digital fine arts, video animations, "Digital Age Dress", and a sci-fi personality test
Web-game odyssey "Electronic Age Metamorphosis".
Participants include: Clodine Mallindrodt, Grace K. Song, Benjamin J. Walter, Janet Si-Ming Lee, Sonali Manseta,
Kara Blanchard and Sheila Vyas.
The Boston Cyberarts Festival is an exhibition of experimental cyberarts/multimedia
work by many renowned and new cyberartists and cyber-pioneers in
the Boston area.

(Saturday, 2-10-01) The Chinese Culture Connection invited WAAM to its Chinese New Year Festival at the
Beebee Elementary School in Malden. WAAM exhibited artwork to an estimated 300-500 attendees from the local
community. Artists showcasing work included WAAM Founder Janet Si-Ming Lee '98 and printmaker Jessica Ficken. Janet
featured her Wellesley Honors Senior Thesis project: Si-Ming: Field of the Heart, a multimedia animation featuring
an "interactive" dialogue of poetry written by a Chinese immigrant and her daughter. Jessica exhibited three abstract monotypes that explore
the abstract landscape of knees.

WAAM organized a first "Paper Prayers" Creative Workshop
- WAAMers' Paper Prayers were exhibited at Newbury Street's Yezerski
Gallery and at the Wellesley College Jewetts Arts Center. WAAM's work helped
fundraise for the Boston Pediatric AIDS project.
