Mission Statement We have taken up the Team in Training mission as a means to get involved in serving our community. By promoting TNT fundraisers, we proactively increase public awareness of Leukemia and other blood-related cancers, inevitably disseminating the most current facts and statistics. We also hope to encourage member of our community to take advantage of opportunities to support research efforts. We fervently believe that our current efforts will directly or indirectly affect our sponsors and ourselves at some point in the future, for blood-related cancers strike over 100,000 Americans each year. This community project is like no other because while we are disciplining our bodies and minds, we must also develop our formerly uncultivated fundraising and outreach skills. We hope that through participating in TNT we can achieve and maintain a healthier lifestyle, promote health and awareness in our community, and develop skills that we can continue to use in community service in the future. Most of all, we strive to instill a sense of hope and support among cancer patients and their families. Please
sponsor
us in reaching our goals by supporting us and contributing generously
to our fundraising efforts.

Sissi Liu & Katherine Hallissy, February 2001
Sissi and Katherine are running and campaigning in honor of the bravest 9-year-old we know, Christian Sanchez. Christian, a third grader and an ALL leukemia patient, lives in the Boston area and shows his pride by supporting his favorite local team, the Boston Red Sox. Some day he'd like to meet all of the players... maybe he can go into sports journalism! When
he's not playing baseball or watching the Red Sox, Christian also likes
to write and illustrate stories and design cards. His favorite book is
the Prince of Egypt, and he enjoys singing in both English and Spanish.
He hopes to one day record a CD! Christian also loves to travel, see new
places, and sample new foods. We know he has a lot of exciting experiences
ahead of him.
