In the spirit of strengthening the Wellesley-MIT
alumni community and encouraging multimedia project collaboration
and creative exchanges between the two institutions, WAAM unites
Wellesley and MIT alumni and friends together monthly at local
events. These events include the following:
- Bi-monthly WAAM
Team Leadership meetings to discuss current projects, brainstorm
new workshops and events, and strategize WAAM's development and
outreach.
- Creativity
Support Group discussions: new project brainstorming and informal
project critiques.
- Project-oriented
workshops to create arts and crafts, write poetry, etc.
- Coffee shop socials and dinner discussions
featuring guest speakers currently working in multimedia, technology and
creative fields.
- Group outings centered around local community
events
(e.g. local Open Studio events, gallery exhibitions, digital installations
and other multimedia-related events).
- Professional development and technical
training workshops
In addition to these events, WAAMers are
periodically invited to functions (e.g. theatre productions, cultural
festivals, art exhibitions, and creative workshops) coordinated
by the local non-profit organizations we serve.
We encourage you to peruse the WAAM What's
New page. For more information on upcoming events and workshops,
please visit our WAAM
e-groups website. Here you'll find up-to-date postings by WAAM peers on local
socials, potential project collaborations, job openings, and industry
news.
