New Faculty Joining the CS Department The Computer Science Department at Wellesley is happy to announce that three new faculty members will be joining it next year: Orit Shaer is receiving her PhD in Computer Science from Tufts University and will be conducting research in Tangible User Interfaces and Human-Computer Interaction. She is joining our department as a tenure-track faculty member and will be teaching a new course in HCI in the Spring of 2009. Kevin Gold has just received his PhD in Computer Science from Yale University and will be conducting research in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. He is joining us as the Norma Wilentz Hess Fellow, an endowed Visiting Assistant Professorship, and will be teaching the AI course in the Fall 2008 and a new course in his research area in the Spring 2009. Eni Mustafaraj received her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Marburg, Germany, in 2007. She is joining us as a Visiting Scholar and will be working with Prof. Metaxas in the field of Web Search and Natural Language Processing, and she will lecture in the new CS349 course in the Fall 2008.
