SndSampler

Recording from CD

  1. Insert CD into computer's CD rom slot.
  2. Start up SndSampler application
  3. From the File Menu, choose "Import"
  4. Navigate to CD, select desired track, click "Import"
  5. In window that comes up, set start and stop time Make it short!, Click OK.
  6. In save window that comes up, navigate to desired folder for saving file, name file (file.aiff), click OK.

Recording from Microphone

  1. Start up SndSampler application
  2. Choose "New" from the File Menu.
  3. In window that comes up, Select "Microphone" as the Input Source. Click OK.
  4. A recording window will appear. Click on the "Record" button. Talk. Click on "Stop" button when finished. Click OK.
  5. Cutting and Pasting: Sound region between arrows is "selected" (it is highlighted purple). This region will be cut or copied if you choose Cut or Copy from the Edit menu. Can cut and paste pieces of the sound as desired.
  6. Choose "Save" from the file menu.
  7. In the window that appears, choose "AIFF" in the select box at the bottom of the window. Name file with .aiff extension (file.aiff).

MoviePlayer

Making a sound-only Movie

  1. Start up Movie Player application
  2. Insert CD into CD rom drive.
  3. From the File Menu choose "Open".
  4. Navigate to CD and select a track.
  5. Click on "Convert" button.
  6. Important: In the window that appears, Click on the "Options" button.
  7. In the options window, choose Start and Stop times for the recording. Make it short! Click OK.
  8. In the Save window, choose a name and navigate to the folder you wish to save the movie in. Click Save.
  9. Choose "Save As..." from the File menu.
