Feedback on CS110 Coding

Note that, unlike the grades on the homeworks, the grades on your project coding are not just a simple checkoff. We're looking not just for a lack of errors, but also for intangibles like excellence. Error-free coding that is good but not excellent will receive very good marks, but not perfect.

Feedback on basic site function (15 points):
Does everything work?

 

Feedback on aesthetics, design, readability (15 points):
We'll look at colors, fonts, sizes, alignment, scrolling, whether content is well labeled, and other design and layout issues.

 

Feedback on usability, navigation, accessibility (15 points):
We'll look at ease of navigation, link labeling, ALT attributes, textual alternatives to image links, links to framesets if frames are used, page titles (for bookmarking) and so forth.

 

Fulfilling design and documentation of changes (15 points):
Does your changes document properly describe the design changes? Are your pages properly commented?

 

Feedback on special features (JavaScript) (20 points):
Each person is supposed to have done two distinct JavaScript applications. We'll look at how effective these are.

 

Feedback on modularity (10 points):
We expect you to handle repetitious elements of your pages using shared files of JavaScript code or shared files using SSI

 

Feedback on error-free content (5 points):
We'll scan for typos and other small-scale errors.

 

Above and Beyond (5 points):
Conspicuous excellence in project.
