Wellesley Asian Dance Organization is one of Wellesley College’s premier traditional Asian dance troupes. We strive to promote and maintain an interest in all aspect of dance culture through original choreography, technical and expressive performances, critical observation of traditional dances, and an understanding of the dances in the various contexts of history and culture. Dance is a direct expression of culture. Participation in WADO allows one to experience cultures through artistic endeavors. Given that, we invite anyone who is interested in the Asian culture to come to our interest meeting where more information on how you can join will be provided. Our choreography utilizes the fundamental techniques of ballet, modern and jazz to reflect lifestyles and cultures of various ethnic groups in Asia. However, a strong background in Chinese traditional dance is not required. We invite anyone with interest to join!
