Demo Day and Final Project Instructions, Games 349
Demo Day is Tuesday, May 4
Final project is due Monday, May 17
Demo Day Instructions
- Demo Day will be worth 10% of your final project grade, with full credit awarded if you've made a good faith effort to prepare a demo and engage with the other presenters.
- The format will be poster style, with your game-in-progress taking the place of a poster. If you don't have a working demo, show whatever you've got (.fla, design docs, etc.).
- Half of the class will observe or play, while the other half demos, with a changeover at 11:45. For full credit, you must attend the full class period (i.e., both observe and demo).
- While you're observing the other projects, see whether you can offer any other students useful advice. Please oblige requests to playtest!
- Students going first: Kat, Korina, Patricia, Carolyn, Cidney, Catherine, Consuelo, Anna. All others are in the second group.
- There will be cake.
Final Project Instructions
- All digital final projects should be zipped and dropped in the CS349 Drop folder by 4:30 PM on Monday, May 17. Include all files necessary to compile your program from scratch. Include your name in the .zip file name.
- Non-digital projects can be turned in by hand to my office between 1 and 4:30 on Monday, May 17, or by appointment.
- For IF games, provide a walkthrough. All other genres, please include whatever instructions might be necessary to see everything your game has to offer (commands, easter eggs, etc.).
- Optional: You may include a written description of the development process, including the time it took you to develop the various parts of the game, and any changes you made in response to playtesting. This description can only help your grade, but it is entirely possible to achieve even S Rank without it.
- Absolutely no late projects!
- Aim for wrapping up a few days in advance, so that you have the extra time to playtest. New players will often spot flaws you can't see, because you're used to them.
Good luck!
