The science or study of the technology associated with the design, fabrication, theory, and application of robots.

turn, turn, turn

the above photo shows the gears used in a pond i made. but we'll get to that a little later... first of all, you must know *why* i made any of this! you see, wintersession rolled around and it was time for me to take a class i'd been dying to take ever since my first year at wellesley. it's called robotics. it is taught as both a computer science and physics course. because of this, robotics is taught by two wellesley faculty members: professor berg from the physics department and professor turbak from the computer science department.

a little turtle

sure, i was a little scared at first, since it was my first class in the science center and everything... heh... but i loved it! we learned all about robots and how to create them and manipulate them. we even used legos (yes, the toys of our youth) to build them! pretty exciting, right? right!

a little puppet

so our final assignment was to create our own robot, anything we wanted. what freedom! my mind raced with crazy ideas, but i wanted my invention to be just perfect. then it hit me! i knew what i wanted to make!!
