After observing a real-life car wash, we were particularly excited to build our buffers. We had confidence that we could build them to spin like the buffers in a real car wash. Our small buffers were quite easy to build. We simply cut out circular shapes, speared them through two rods, and attached the rods to motors. Our large buffer, on the other hand, was a bit more complicated. At first we considered building a bridge on top of the track and hanging strips down from above. However, we decided that a attaching a bridge would make our car wash less stable and more difficult to transport. We also wanted to create a side to side motion as the car traveled through the strips, so we built an arm-like device that could repeatedly push out and pull in.
Code:

to buffer

when [(switch 7)] [bc, onfor 90]

when [(switch 7)] [a, onfor 90]

end
