Way for Kate's Ducklings
Final Project ~ Design
Our project, as witnessed by the title, is all about ducks. In
honor of Kate, we decided to create a duck that would interact with the environment.
Inspired by Making way for Ducklings, we chose not only to build a large
Mama duck, but also several smaller baby ducks.
Originally, we attempted to create a Mama Duck that could walk
on two legs. After several iterations, we decided that balancing a large robot
on two small feet was simply too hard.
Instead of building a duck from Legos alone, we used the Legos
as a frame to support a stuffed animal body. The baby ducks are rubber duckies
attached to Lego carts.
