Client Information

Our client(SEO China) is a non-profit organization, established in New York City in 1963, to provide opportunities and fair competition for minority students to excel in the workplace. SEO has offices in various cities including NYC, London, and Shanghai. These offices help highly achieving minority students to reach their career goals by providing internships and work opportunities in commercial and financial fields.

SEO was brought to China by Mr. Thomas G. Tsao, a Harvard University graduate who joined Wall Street through SEO-USA program. Mr. Tsao moved to China and introduced the program to China in 2006. He believed that the preeminent Chinese students should also enjoy the various opportunities provided by SEO.

Purpose and Goals

The Website’s purpose is to enhance the presence of SEO China and therefore to fulfill its functions. We aim to:

• display clear but comprehensive introduction and news about SEO China
• demonstrate accessible information for the opportunities and jobs that the organization offered.
• Allow minority students to submit their application using the websites
• provide information about donation and contact for anyone interested

Audience

The targeted audience of this page will be:

• Young Chinese students looking for internships. They can have a general information of this program, outstanding alumnae, schedule of campus talk and application deadline, and ways of application.
• Alumnae or beneficiaries of the program. They can have access to news, obtain updates of organization programs and contribute to the development of the program with their donations.
• Enterprises interested in recruiting. They can obtain information of past results, the development of the program and how to join the sponsor team.
• Charity organizations interested in donating. They can be introduced to past cooperations and obtain contact information.

Content Outline

Home page
The facade or storefront of the entire website. It should contain a lot of visual information about this organization, as visual information is more eye-catching than texts. The page should emphasize the most important features of this website, such as the "application page".

About page
The page for SEO China’s information. It will introduce the audience to the function and brief history of this organization. Since SEO China has a lot of outstanding alumnae, the about page should also present the information of alumnae and sponsors of this program.This page will help us achieve the goal of informing and intriguing users about this organization and programs it provide. The information should be clearly laid out and easy to read.

Program Page
The page for introducing SEO China’s internship programs. Web visitors will be able to find images and literary reports of past events. The page should also bring out a general introduction to current internship programs, scheduless and application deadlines, and a gateway to the application page etc. The page will help achive SEO's goal of introducing internship opportunities to young Chinese students. We will make sure that the information is organized clearly and the page looks very professional.

Application Page
The page for on-line application of this program. As we have said in the purpose of this organization is to provide young Chinese students with internship opportunity in business and finance field. This page provides a place for the on-line application of the SEO internship program.

Donation Page
As an important part of SEO China is to cultivate social responsibility of young generation in China and enhance the well-being of the unprivileged. This page is to present the Charity Program that SEO China designed in the past and the current charity program. Charity organizations interested in cooperating with SEO China can find contact information.

Final Locations

SEO China will purchase the domain name and the hosting fees. The website will need to migrate to China eventually.

challenges

• Location of the server.
  Due to the location of the client and the targeted audience, the web page is required to be available in China and with satisfactory operation speed. Thus, there might be a challenge for us towards the end of this project to migrate the whole web page to the final location.


• Complicated function
  The very important function that our client wants is the application part. The website shall allow users to upload file or go through an application process. The client already outsourced the application to another company, however, how to better integrate that part into our webpage might be a challenge.


• Huge workload
  It is quiet complicated website with many functions and contents. Due to our time limitation, it might be difficult for us to finish everything online and more additional work shall be done after the semester .
