About Us: Willa Freedman
She is a sophomore physics major from Northern Virginia. She has never done any computer programming or web design before (hence the simplicity of this site) but has played around with LEGOs for years. Because of this experience in LEGOs and knowledge of physics, she did a significant amount of the construction of the motion modules, Shrek's vehicle, and the circuit for the LEDs along with the coding for this project. She loved the Shrek movie since it combined her favorite plots from Disney movies, such as rescuing a damsel in distress and females who can kick butts, in a new and hilarious way. Also, who cannot love the banter between Shrek and Donkey? And why do the Donkey and the Dragon not have real names?
Meagan Richard
She is an accelerating "senior" history major from Western Massachusetts. She took an intro computer science course in high school, but passed only because of extensive extra-credit work. In other words, robotics and computer science are not her forte. She did a majority of the artwork on the project, and comes from a more artistic background, mainly focusing on music performance and composition. She was very excited about the Shrek project because it was fun to make, and the hot glue burns didn't last long. She is also excited to be done, finally, and look back and be proud of the huge amounts of work that both she and Willa did.
