How EcoBot works
The waste station
According to directions on EcoBot's front panel, the user disposes of waste by placing it in the trash. A touch sensor inside the trash bin is activated, which then acitivates a motor that lowers a row of trees.
The next instruction on the front panel tells the user to remove the trash from the trash bin and place it in the recycling bin. In addition to the touch sensor, there is a light sensor inside the trash bin. If the user removes the trash from the trash bin, this light sensor will detect it. Fifteen seconds later, the motor attached to the trees will turn in the reverse direction, causing the trees to rise again. Note that it is the light sensor inside the trash bin that controls the raising of the trees. The recycling bin actually does not contain any sensors and does not affect the trees.
The energy station
Once again following instructions on the front of the robot, the user turns on the light in the log cabin and leaves the light on. After
