FAQs
Who can sign up for WellesleyLink?
Any alumna with a 8-character username can sign up, so long as they enter all their information correctly in the form.
Can I upload my profile picture?
Yes, you can, but it must be in .jpg format. (If it doesn't upload successfully during sign up, please try again in Update Profile.)
I'm searching for someone, but can't find them. Do you know why?
Our searches are mostly phrase matches, meaning the phrase you search must exist in the database. For example, searching for
"linguisticS" majors will return nothing, because we use the same formal phrasing that the Alumnae office uses, which is
"Cognitive and Linguistic Science"; the extra "S" in "linguistics" is what fails the search. However, searching for "lingui" will
return a list of all linguistics majors.
Does everyone get plotted onto the map?
At this time, we are only able to plot the users who list one of the major 70 US cities (from
here) or major 50 non-US world cities (from
here) as their current city.
(If you really must know, it's due to the slow and expensive nature of using Geolocation APIs.)
We encourage any alumnae who would like to show up on the map to list their nearest metropolitan area.
