Our Coach:
Ximena Rodriguez Miller

Ximena Miller

Mrs. Ximena Miller has taught at Monroe High School for the past 15 years. She currently teaches 9th-12th grade English Language Arts and has coached the Acadeca team for more than five years. She received her master's degree in educational leadership from California State University, Northridge.

She is married and has two daughters, the youngest of whom was on the team before she graduated from Monroe last year. Coach Miller is passionate about helping her students achieve to their maximum potential.

"The students on our Acadeca team are students who have big dreams, but are afraid of the cost of those dreams, so they join activities like Academic Decathlon in the hopes that colleges will see what makes them special. They are students of varied academic histories, but they have curiosity in common. My students have read novels that many of my peers have never tackled, all for the sake of properly representing their team and their school. They walk in the footsteps of team members who have gone on to UCLA, Wellesley, Brown, and Williams; all with the hope of an equally promising future. These are the kids who we want to set up for the best possible success." - Mrs. Miller
