Wellesley College Visitor Information
Information for ICPC teams competing at Wellesley College, Sunday November 9, 2025 .
We are a bring-your-own-device site. Don't come without a Windows laptop! See the Technology Details section.
Be sure to fill out this food preference form (including sandwich wrap order) by the end of Thu Nov 6.
Wellesley College is easily reached by the Boston T commuter rail or by car:
Once you are on campus, you need to enter the Science Center on the south side:
The building is locked, but we will have volunteers available to let you in and guide you to the registration desk.
If you are walking from the commuter rail, you'll be coming from the north side, so you'll have to go around the building.
We will use bring-your-own-device , according to the default NENA specs. The device needs to be able to boot from a USB thumbdrive containing Linux, which will be provided. Note that Macbooks generally do not work. We recommend that you test your device with the contest Linux image before the competition to make sure that it works on your device. A common issue is with the wifi driver.
Networking setup : You will connect to the "Wellesley Guest" network; no authentication is required. However, there is an "acceptable use" button you have to confirm in a web browser before the network is fully operational.
Please arrive early enough to allow enough time for signing in and booting your machine. From the past experience, some teams arrived late, had trouble with booting their machines, and lost some time in the contest.
Have any questions? The organizers at the Wellesley site are:
Email is preferred, particularly since cell service in the Science Center is spotty, but in a pinch, you can definitely try the phone numbers.
