Error opening Rockhopper on Mac?

When attempting to open Rockhopper, some Mac users may experience an error suggesting "Rockhopper is damaged and can't be opened" as shown below.



For Older Versions of Mac OSX (e.g., 10.11 and earlier)

This error can be addressed by opening "System Preferences..." and selecting "Security & Privacy". Under the line "Allow applications downloaded from", the option "Anywhere" should be selected as shown below.



For Newer Versions of Mac OSX (e.g., 10.12 and later)

This error can be addressed by opening the "Terminal" application, which can be found in the Utilities folder.

In the Terminal, type in "sudo spctl --master-disable". You may be prompted for your password.

Now open (double-click) Rockhopper to launch it. Rockhopper should start and work appropriately. Once Rockhopper is working, return to the Terminal window and type in "sudo spctl --master-enable"
