e.g.

chop ([1 2 3]) ==> [1 2 3]
chop ([1 2 3 4 5 6 7]) ==> [1 2 3 4 5]
chop ([2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20]) ==> [2 4 6 8 10]
