Assignment Demo¶
- Remember, this is a pair programming assignment:
- work as one; do not "divide and conquer"
- switch off "driving" versus "navigating"
- navigator is active
- Template Inheritance is not required (but could be useful). It's sufficient to put the form on the main page
- POST is not required (form should use GET)
- Redirects are required
- You'll handle the form submission, possibly redirecting to the authoritative page on a single movie or person.
- You can look at my HTML; that's allowed.
Mid-Semester Eval¶
Executive Summary:
- Overall, we're doing well. Most people are happy with presentation, pace, homework difficulty, etc.
- I'll show the graphics in another window
- Many people like the in-class exercises and examples.
- Some people mentioned that they like the quiz questions and their in-class review
- Some people mentioned that they like the soft deadlines
Key Points/Suggestions¶
- 1 said lectures too fast
- 1 said homeworks could be more challenging
- 1 said class session info can be confusing
No real themes. I do appreciate the feedback, and I'll continue to try to improve the course.
- change quiz time to morning?
- I can do this, but I worry that it encourages starting the reading at midnight
- Thoughts?
- lots want quizzes released earlier
- sure, I can try to do that.
- Videos instead?
- I'm sorry; I don't have time to create videos. Maybe next year.
AI Section¶
- Most of you don't use AI much at all!
- I think that's great. I, too, am a "sparing" user
- Most often used to debug assignments
- Most found it helpful.
- mostly debugging
- syntax errors
- understanding error messages
- AI is unhelpful when it doesn't understand the context (e.g. database tables)
Teams Work on Project Proposal¶
- I'm happy to come around and answer questions
- If you are done, your team can start discussing the Design and Plan
