Amanda Gardner
... is a Chemistry and Computer Science major. She's on the fencing team and loves steak. Gardner's from California, to which place she will return for Chemical Engineering graduate school. She enjoys listening to Oldies, especially the Beatles. Gardner has her own special brand of English understood only by a few lucky bilingual members of her family and the fencing team. A written form is currently being developed (without the use of hard consonants or spaces :) Gardner was our main computer programmer - a role which she filled with acumen.

On a certain Lady at Court
I KNOW a thing that 's most uncommon;
(Envy, be silent and attend!) I know a reasonable woman,
Handsome and witty, yet a friend.
Not warp'd by passion, awed by rumour;
Not grave through pride, nor gay through folly;
An equal mixture of good-humour
And sensible soft melancholy.
'Has she no faults then (Envy says), Sir?'
Yes, she has one, I must aver:
When all the world conspires to praise her,
The woman's deaf, and does not hear.

Marissa Mounds
major: latin amertican studies
class: 2004
Wellesley College student by day, esteemed resident advisor by night; Marissa hails from Connecticut and is the daughter of two lovely parents whom shall remain nameless. An unknown source says that she refers to them as Mom and Dad, but that is top secret information so do not tell anyone. For many years, Marissa has dreamed of creating a wonderfully engineered masterpiece, thus she enrolled in the Wintersession Robotic Design Studio Course at Wellesley College. Although Marissa has participated in several engineering and science programs in the past, none have afforded such an opportunity to spend several hours in the laboratory playing with Legos and better yet, making them move on their own! While in this course, she collaborated with several colleagues to create what the world has been waiting for...hold on to your seats folks....please be patient. Does the anticipation have you on edge? Well, here goes nothing. The group created none other than a version of the amusement park favorite "Whack -a- Mole". No your eyes were not fooling you; yes, the previous statement does include the phrase "Whack -a- Mole". This project has won Marissa and her colleagues two nominations at the 2002 Stress Beaters Awards. Keep a look out for Marissa's first national tour in Spring 2002 to promote her new book, "...And a Good Mole Was He".
