Overall, our app idea seems to fit our target audience—Wellesley seniors—but further refinement may be necessary to attract and retain users. Several suggestions were made to hone one key feature that distinguishes the app from others while prioritizing connectivity as our goal. As a team, we have decided to focus on the “question of the day” feature and simplify the app's functions.
In this design, we wanted to have a home page which centralized all of the features of our app. The ‘Question of the Day’ prompts would be linked here and conversations with friends would appear at the bottom of the page. There would be other features here such as a gratitude journal, friends list, and map to share locations with friends. The profile page would have the user’s information. This design was more complex and had more features than the first one.
Based on our feedback we realized that second design had too many features, and many people thought this may be overwhelming for users and make the app difficult to navigate. This meant that we needed to focus on narrowing down the scope of the app. We decided we needed to focus on a single main feature and design that in depth.
