Based on the observations from the testing, several aspects of the interface worked well, including the immediate redirection to the questions page upon opening the app, the addition of contacts, the use of Wellesley colors, and blurred answers.
However, we got some constructive suggestions, such as adding class year to the contact list, making the Question of the Day page more visually appealing, incorporating profile photos into the home page, and making it easier to find the plus button.
Users also made some errors, such as momentarily pausing at the friend drop-down, not being able to find the edit button on the profile page, and finding the Question of the Day page clunky. Some users also found the home page confusing, and some were unsure if they would use the app, as they were not sure if it offered anything different from existing platforms.
Adjustments that could be made to our testing plan include providing more detailed instructions or labels to clarify confusing elements such as the friend drop-down and the edit button, and asking more open-ended questions to encourage users to share their thoughts and opinions more freely. We also did not include a walkthrough of the login/sign-up portion of our prototype which started our tests off in a potentially confusing place.
