Research Programmer, Human-Computer Interaction Lab

The Wellesley College Human-Computer Interaction Lab (WHCI Lab) is seeking a talented research programmer to join our lab as a full-time employee.

WHCI Lab’s research spans large-scale interactive surfaces, tangible and embodied interaction, 3D interaction, information visualization, and HCI for bioinformatics.

WHCI Lab is housed in a state-of-the-art facility and is equipped with cutting-edge research equipment. The research programmer position presents a unique and exciting opportunity to work on developing novel user interfaces and visualizations for multi-device environments consisting of large interactive surfaces and personal devices.

Wellesley College is a preeminent liberal arts institution and a leader in the education of women. The WHCI Lab is part of a dynamic and growing Computer Science department and is also associated with the Media Arts and Science Program.

Qualifications

The position requires an advanced degree (PhD, ABD, or MSc) or a bachelor's degree and at least 3-years relevant work experience in information visualization, HCI, software development, or closely related areas.

Successful candidates should demonstrate solid C++ and JavaScript programming skills as well as aptitude for design.

Candidates should also demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, teamwork skills and an interest in mentoring undergraduate students.

Due to funding restrictions, candidates must be US citizens or US permanent residents.
