This webpage is devoted to pictures and videos of the individual mechanisms:

Spindle: what the toilet paper rolls go on (and are dropped off of).

Catch: mechanism that supports and releases the free end of the spindle.

Together!

Winch: provides the power to hoist Concetta and her hefty roll.

Dispenser: stores and dispenses refill rolls of toilet paper to Concetta..

Concetta: Hubba hubba!

This is Concetta relaxing by the pool...You didn't really think we'd forget her, did you?

Skirt-Lifter (Lego Motion Module)

This is one of the things we had in mind-it would be rigged to her arms, which would be attached to her skirt at the hands...She could also kick up her skirt if we used her legs instead.

We also considered using a reel or a piston type of mechanism.

The Concetta system

With the HandyBoard programming running-at the press of a "panic" button, the catch would release and the spindle would pivot down to let the empty roll drop into an awaiting bin. The spindle would then pivot up to await the loading of a new roll onto it. The dispenser would deposit a new roll onto Concetta's platform, which would descend until it was directly above the spindle. The platform would then be moved aside, the new roll would fall onto the spindle, and the catch would return to its holding position and the spindle would pivot back into place (and the other mechanisms would get ready for a future run).
